China Agentic AI’s ’GPT Moment’?

Investing.com -- UBS analysts believe that China’s AI sector may be experiencing its own “GPT moment,” with agentic AI poised to transform enterprise software and digital assistants.
The bank notes that Chinese AI startups and software companies are rapidly innovating, making applications more cost-effective and widely adopted.
A standout example is said to be Monica.ai’s Manus, an all-in-one AI assistant capable of conducting complex tasks such as market research, document analysis, coding, and personalized travel planning.
UBS notes that Manus is priced significantly lower than U.S. AI models, fueling expectations for faster adoption of agentic AI in China.
UBS predicts that Manus is just the beginning of much more cost-effective innovations in the agentic AI space, with accelerating monetization of "digital employees."
Enterprise software companies in China are also said to be aggressively integrating AI.
The bank notes that Yonyou, for instance, has launched over 100 AI-powered features for HR, accounting, and customer support. With state-owned enterprises as key clients, Yonyou secured RMB 100 million in AI-related orders in 2024.
UBS adds that Kingdee’s BOSS AI agent provides real-time insights for finance, supply chain, and manufacturing, with AI-driven orders exceeding tens of millions in RMB.
Meanwhile, Guangzhou SIE Consulting is said to have recently won a RMB 48 million AI project, and Kingsoft Office’s WPS AI consumer tools generated an estimated RMB 300 million in revenue, with 2 million paid subscribers.
As AI demand grows and monetization accelerates, UBS views China’s agentic AI sector as a major disruptor.
