Spain stocks lower at close of trade; IBEX 35 down 1.41%

Investing.com – Spain stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Financial Services & Real Estate, Building & Construction and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Madrid, the IBEX 35 lost 1.41%.

The best performers of the session on the IBEX 35 were Enagas (BME:ENAG), which rose 3.78% or 0.48 points to trade at 13.19 at the close. Meanwhile, Redeia Corporacion SA (BME:REDE) added 2.45% or 0.42 points to end at 17.55 and Telefonica (BME:TEF) was up 1.02% or 0.04 points to 4.25 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were ArcelorMittal SA (BME:MTS), which fell 4.76% or 1.45 points to trade at 29.04 at the close. Banco Santander (BME:SAN) declined 4.37% or 0.27 points to end at 5.95 and Acerinox (BME:ACX) was down 4.12% or 0.48 points to 11.16.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Madrid Stock Exchange by 127 to 62 and 26 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.51% or 14.79 to $2,899.31 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 1.19% or 0.80 to hit $66.24 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.19% or 0.84 to trade at $69.52 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.01% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.27% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.06% at 103.88.
