France stocks lower at close of trade; CAC 40 down 0.90%

Investing.com – France stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Industrials, Financials and Oil & Gas sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Paris, the CAC 40 declined 0.90%, while the SBF 120 index lost 0.92%.

The best performers of the session on the CAC 40 were Stellantis NV (EPA:STLAM), which rose 2.72% or 0.32 points to trade at 11.95 at the close. Meanwhile, Kering SA (EPA:PRTP) added 2.41% or 6.00 points to end at 255.00 and Dassault Systemes SE (EPA:DAST) was up 2.26% or 0.89 points to 40.29 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Compagnie de Saint Gobain SA (EPA:SGOB), which fell 5.48% or 5.80 points to trade at 100.10 at the close. Societe Generale SA (EPA:SOGN) declined 5.25% or 2.21 points to end at 39.87 and Safran SA (EPA:SAF) was down 4.94% or 12.40 points to 238.40.

The top performers on the SBF 120 were Eutelsat Communications SA (EPA:ETL) which rose 27.93% to 7.47, Valeo SA (EPA:VLOF) which was up 6.52% to settle at 10.71 and SES (EPA:SESFd) which gained 5.99% to close at 5.57.

The worst performers were Rexel (EPA:RXL) which was down 7.16% to 25.42 in late trade, Emeis SA (EPA:EMEIS) which lost 7.13% to settle at 11.36 and Atos SE (EPA:ATOS) which was unchanged 6.52% to 0.00 at the close.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Paris Stock Exchange by 292 to 207 and 84 ended unchanged.

The CAC 40 VIX, which measures the implied volatility of CAC 40 options, was unchanged 0.00% to 18.96 a new 52-week high.

Gold Futures for April delivery was down 0.47% or 13.61 to $2,900.49 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in April fell 0.97% or 0.65 to hit $66.39 a barrel, while the May Brent oil contract fell 1.04% or 0.73 to trade at $69.63 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.00% to 1.08, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.25% to 0.84.

The US Dollar Index Futures was up 0.07% at 103.89.
