Greece stocks lower at close of trade; Athens General Composite down 0.48%

Investing.com – Greece stocks were lower after the close on Monday, as losses in the Telecoms, Household and Basic Resources sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Athens, the Athens General Composite lost 0.48%.

The best performers of the session on the Athens General Composite were Cars Motorcycles and Marine Engine Trade and Import Company SA (AT:MTDr), which rose 3.63% or 0.09 points to trade at 2.57 at the close. Meanwhile, Intralot (AT:INLr) added 3.20% or 0.04 points to end at 1.16 and Holding Company ADMIE IPTO SA (AT:ADMr) was up 1.93% or 0.06 points to 3.17 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Titan Cement International SA (AT:TITCr), which fell 6.34% or 2.60 points to trade at 38.40 at the close. Techn Olympic (AT:OLYr) declined 3.33% or 0.08 points to end at 2.32 and BriQ Properties REIC (AT:BRIQr) was down 2.87% or 0.08 points to 2.71.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Athens Stock Exchange by 61 to 60 and 23 ended unchanged.

Gold Futures for August delivery was up 0.34% or 11.15 to $3,298.75 a troy ounce. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in August fell 1.04% or 0.68 to hit $64.84 a barrel, while the September Brent oil contract fell 0.58% or 0.39 to trade at $66.41 a barrel.

EUR/USD was unchanged 0.09% to 1.17, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.26% to 0.86.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.23% at 96.81.
