Portugal stocks lower at close of trade; PSI down 0.58%

Investing.com – Portugal stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Financials, Telecoms and Industrials sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Lisbon, the PSI lost 0.58%.

The best performers of the session on the PSI were EDP Renovaveis (ELI:EDPR), which rose 1.21% or 0.12 points to trade at 10.00 at the close. Meanwhile, Ren Redes Energeticas Nacionais SGPS SA (ELI:RENE) added 0.68% or 0.02 points to end at 2.96 and Semapa (ELI:SEM) was up 0.45% or 0.08 points to 17.76 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Banco Comercial Portugues (ELI:BCP), which fell 3.48% or 0.03 points to trade at 0.71 at the close. Galp Energia Nom (ELI:GALP) declined 2.32% or 0.38 points to end at 15.77 and Corticeira Amorim (ELI:CORA) was down 1.46% or 0.11 points to 7.41.

Falling stocks outnumbered advancing ones on the Lisbon Stock Exchange by 12 to 10 and 6 ended unchanged.

Brent oil for November delivery was down 2.75% or 1.84 to $65.15 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Crude oil for delivery in October fell 3.04% or 1.93 to hit $61.55 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.22% or 43.90 to trade at $3,650.60 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.91% to 1.18, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.14% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.92% at 97.40.
