Netherlands stocks lower at close of trade; AEX down 0.17%

Investing.com – Netherlands stocks were lower after the close on Friday, as losses in the Oil & Gas, Financials and Consumer Services sectors led shares lower.

At the close in Amsterdam, the AEX fell 0.17%.

The best performers of the session on the AEX were Akzo Nobel NV (AS:AKZO), which rose 2.13% or 1.26 points to trade at 60.36 at the close. Meanwhile, ASML Holding NV (AS:ASML) added 1.95% or 12.60 points to end at 660.20 and ASM International NV (AS:ASMI) was up 1.81% or 7.40 points to 415.70 in late trade.

The worst performers of the session were Shell PLC (AS:SHEL), which fell 2.34% or 0.73 points to trade at 30.46 at the close. ING Groep NV (AS:INGA) declined 1.65% or 0.35 points to end at 20.56 and Randstad NV (AS:RAND) was down 1.51% or 0.59 points to 38.50.

Rising stocks outnumbered declining ones on the Amsterdam Stock Exchange by 59 to 39 and 8 ended unchanged.

The AEX Volatility, which measures the implied volatility of AEX options, was unchanged 0.00% to 21.09.

Crude oil for October delivery was down 3.07% or 1.95 to $61.53 a barrel. Elsewhere in commodities trading, Brent oil for delivery in November fell 2.76% or 1.85 to hit $65.14 a barrel, while the December Gold Futures contract rose 1.21% or 43.80 to trade at $3,650.50 a troy ounce.

EUR/USD was up 0.91% to 1.18, while EUR/GBP unchanged 0.15% to 0.87.

The US Dollar Index Futures was down 0.91% at 97.40.
